The Foundation Research Course introduces students to the fundamentals of academic research. Participants learn how to identify research questions, review scholarly literature, apply basic research methodologies, and present their findings in a structured academic format. The course is designed to develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and academic writing abilities, preparing students for future research projects and university-level study.

Module 2: Literature Search with AI (Week 2)

• Using Google Scholar • Using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity AI) for: ◦ Searching papers ◦ Summarizing articles • How to verify AI-generated information Practical: • Summarize 1 research article using AI + manual correction Outcome: Efficient literature reading using AI
Module 3: Research Idea Development with AI (Week 3)
Module Overview - Open to All
• Research question & hypothesis • Using AI for brainstorming research ideas • Identifying research gaps (with AI support) • Ethical use of AI in research Outcome: Generate simple, valid research ideas
Module 4: Data Basics & AI Tools (Week 4)
